F41Bosch Oven — Bosch Oven F41 Error Code
Door latch motor or latch switch failure during self-clean cycle
The F41 code indicates the door latch motor or its associated switch has malfunctioned, typically during or after a self-clean cycle attempt. On Bosch self-cleaning ovens, the motorized door latch locks the door when temperatures exceed safe limits. F41 appears when the control board sends the lock command and either does not receive a confirmation signal from the latch switch, or the latch motor is stalled. This can result from a seized latch mechanism, faulty wiring to the motor, or a failed motor assembly.
Do not attempt to force the oven door open if it is stuck locked. First, perform a hard reset by cutting power at the breaker for 5 minutes — on some units this causes the latch to release into the unlocked position. If the door unlocks, inspect the latch mechanism for debris or misalignment and clean it. Test the latch switch continuity. If the door remains locked or the error recurs, the door latch assembly (part 00641361) needs replacement. This repair involves accessing the top of the oven and is moderately involved.
