About This Part
OEM heating element for Maytag and Whirlpool electric dryers. This coiled nichrome wire element is housed in a metal frame and mounts in the heater box at the back of the dryer. When it burns through (open circuit), the dryer runs but produces no heat. Test with a multimeter — a healthy element reads 8–12 ohms; an open circuit reading (OL) confirms failure. Always test and replace the thermal fuse (WP3392519) at the same time, since a failed element often causes it to blow. Replaces WP35001247, 35001247, AP6010759.
Installation Difficulty
Moderate — standard tools required, some disassembly needed. Allow 30–45 minutes.
